St. Ignatius Loyola

St. Ignatius Loyola

Your will, Lord, not mine

From today’s Scripture: “The Kingdom of heaven is like yeast that a woman took and mixed with three measures of wheat flour until the whole batch was leavened.”—Mt 13:33

“Most people have no idea what God would make of them if they would only place themselves at his disposal.” Those words of St. Ignatius Loyola, whose feast we celebrate today, resonate with today’s Gospel. Our lives are like the flour in Jesus’ parable. The yeast of the Gospel can enliven us! But we have to place ourselves at  God’s disposal. The Kingdom of God is like bread rising. We have no idea what might happen if we just let the yeast rise.

Let us pray: Loving God, open my heart today, to know and serve your will. Shower me with grace, that I might be alive with your love today, to everyone I meet.
