Saying yes to God
From today’s Scripture: “May it be done to me according to your word.”—Lk 1:38
Mary gave an unconditional yes to the angel because she would not come only halfway, as most of us do. If I accept God’s call, I must give of myself and do for others, especially if it costs me and it hurts.
No one is forced to be a disciple; our faith persuades us. We freely accept situations with the costs and the benefits of being disciples. And we remember that Jesus offered healing and comfort to those willing to pay the price of saying yes.
Let us pray: In a world of announcements and messages, I ask you, Lord, to tune my heart. Help me respond to the inspiration of the angel who whispers to me.
