Second Friday of Easter

Daily Reflection

Second Friday of Easter

Be who you are.

From today’s Scripture: “They did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus.”—Acts 5:42

Saint Catherine of Siena taught, “Be who you are and you can set the world on fire.”

Brothers and sisters, we recall what we hear in the first reading today: “And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus.”

This is what God called us to be. This is how we set the world on fire by proclaiming Christ: in our actions, in our words. It might just be a smile to a stranger or a text message to a relative who you haven’t heard from for ages. Be who God meant you to be!

Let us pray: Bless us Lord with the grace to be the persons you have meant us to be. Amen.
