Immaculate Heart of Mary

Daily Reflection

Immaculate Heart of Mary

God is protecting us.

From today’s Scripture: “Bless the LORD, O my soul; and all my being, bless his holy name.” —Ps 103:1

Have you ever had a near scrape with death? Maybe you saw an oncoming car crossing the yellow line, or you got too close to the edge of something very high, maybe even risked your life in military service. Life is never so sweet as it is after a near miss! We have only God to thank, if we think about it. Whether we appreciate it or not, God is watching over us, always.

The psalmist today is overcome with awareness of how much we stand in debt to God. We should pause sometimes and consider that in our own lives.

Let us pray: Open my eyes, God! Help me to see the blessings you give me today. Help me to understand how you care for me. Give me a prayer of thanks.
