‘As I have done for you’
From today’s Scripture: “Jesus said, ‘I have given you a model to follow, so that as I have done for you, you should also do.’”—Jn 13:15
The public ministry of Jesus was a time of Jesus regularly responding to the needs of people. Jesus’ washing the feet of his disciples was one act in a series of such actions. But here Jesus pauses to point out to his followers that they are to follow his example. And his followers are not just those in the Upper Room. If we claim to be his followers, the challenge is given to you and me as well.
Let us pray: Lord, give me the light to see the needs of those you have placed in my life. And give me the strength to respond as you would.
