Fourth Saturday of Easter

Daily Reflection

Fourth Saturday of Easter

Pray, pray, pray!

From today’s Scripture: “Whatever you ask in my name, I will do.”—Jn 14:13

How many of us ask for prayers? Let’s offer a prayer for my friend who is struggling. For my father who’s having surgery tomorrow. For my neighbor who is having family troubles. For a person I know is struggling against poverty or racism.

We Catholics, indeed all of Christians, believe in the power of prayer. Does God look after our individual needs? We don’t know how it works but we know that God is taking care of us, every minute of every day. It’s a simple thing Jesus tells us: Just ask me to help. I’ll be there.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to trust you more. Stir your spirit within me so that I will call out to you in my need. Today, let me see that you are my only certain hope.
