Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Daily Reflection

Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary

God is with us.

From today’s Scripture: Behold, the virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel, which means ‘God is with us.’”—Mt 1:23

Today we celebrate the birthday of the Virgin Mary in the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Mary is the patroness of the Glenmary Society. The feast shares with us the greatness of Mary as the mother of Jesus. She gave birth to Jesus who is the savior of the world.

Let us pray: Lord God, the day of our salvation dawned when the Blessed Virgin gave birth to Your Son. As we celebrate her nativity, grant us Your grace and Your peace.
