Bread of Life
From today’s Scripture: “…he was made known to them in the breaking of the bread.”—Lk 24:35
Bread is a fundamental food that supports life around the world. Some form of bread can be found in most every culture. In the Eucharist, Jesus transformed this basic source of sustenance into the foundational nourishment for our spiritual life. What a gift! What a privilege! Jesus is with us.
We, too, can have a personal relationship with him. Like the disciples on the way to Emmaus, our hearts can burn as Jesus is made known through the breaking of the bread. Alleluia!
Let us pray: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.
