From today’s Scripture: “He said to them, ‘Go into the whole world and proclaim the Gospel to every creature.’”—Mk 16:15
This, of course, is the great missionary mandate, also known as the Great Commission: go out to the whole world and preach the Good News. It is the foundational directive for us as individuals and as a Church: How can I/we live the Gospel visibly and intentionally today?
Mission is inseparable from charity. Notice who is lonely, overwhelmed, or excluded. Offer practical help, time, encouragement, a meal, a ride. Stand with the vulnerable, even when it costs you comfort.
The Good News sounds believable when it looks like love.
Let us pray: Come, Holy Spirit, and shower upon me your love and grace that I, like the early disciples, might more boldly preach your name to all the nations.
