Easter Friday

The cornerstone

From today’s Scripture: “He is the stone rejected by you, the builders, which has become the cornerstone.”—Acts 4:11

In the name of Jesus Christ, the apostles were preaching and healing. They proclaimed the good news of his resurrection and pointed the way to salvation through him and him alone. When confronted by the elders, chief priests, and scribes, Peter challenged them as the builders who rejected the cornerstone.

Using this vivid imagery from Psalm 118, Peter is also telling us that Jesus, crucified and risen from the dead, has triumphed and is the foundation of our relationship with God. He is the way to the Father.

Let us pray: Dear Jesus, my Lord and Savior, heal my weakness and lead me to the love of your Father. Help me know you as the cornerstone of my life and share your love with those I encounter throughout my day.
