Welcome to #GivingTuesday!

Glenmary is Growing! Answer the call to Build God’s Kingdom!

Sixteen men are studying to become priests and brothers! We are raising funds for their formation and educational expenses and to make much-needed repairs to their House of Formation at St. Meinrad Seminary in St. Meinrad, IN and the Glenmary Novitiate House in Fairfield, OH.

Meet some of the men who are dedicating their lives to build God’s Kingdom:

  • Seminarian Cavine Okello will be ordained a transitional deacon next summer. His vocation to the Glenmary priesthood was inspired by Glenmary’s ministry to marginalized communities.
  • Brother Jude Smith is currently studying theology and minoring in health, ethics and spirituality at Xavier University in Cincinnati. Next will come a Clinical Pastoral Education course in a hospital setting, after which he will serve in the missions full-time while continuing studies in nutrition and teaching English.
  • David Robinson is in his first year of study at St. Meinrad Seminary in preparation for priesthood. He shares his discernment journey and current events in seminary life in the podcast Future Father Dave.
  • Seminarian Joseph Maundu is looking forward to his transitional deacon ordination next summer as well. His seminary formation has instilled a love of living in community and having a curious mind. With the training he has received he feels ready to meet the needs God will place before him. He notes that it is in the simple interactions with those around us that we become Christ to others.

Unfamiliar with #GivingTuesday?

Celebrated on the Tuesday following Thanksgiving (in the U.S.) and the widely recognized shopping events Black Friday and Cyber Monday, #GivingTuesday kicks off the charitable season, when many focus on their holiday and end-of-year giving.
