Autumn Challenge coming soon
The Autumn 2018 edition of Glenmary Challenge magazine will mail to subscribers in early October and, by providence, the issue’s theme is one of pilgrimage.
In the cover story, readers will meet Glenmary Brother Tom Sheehy. Brother Tom operates a ministry along the Appalachian Trail. He provides respite to hikers and will talk with them about life, God, or whatever else is on their mind, bringing a Catholic presence to the trail.
The issue contains a photo essay about a pilgrimage to the “Holy Land” of Appalachia, as Father John Rausch calls it. Glenmary and Maryknoll teamed up for the sake of mission education on this story, which shares the realities of Appalachia’s environmental struggles.
Readers of the Autumn issue will meet David Doseff, a man whose path to the church came via conversion. He is now one of Glenmary’s most ardent supporters. They’ll also get a closer look at Glenmary’s newest mission in Martin County, where Glenmary Father John Brown is returning to the mission field after battling cancer.
There’s also updates on mission construction, diaconate ordinations, radio commercials and more!
The Autumn 2018 Glenmary Challenge
will be available online October 1, until then, please enjoy the summer edition.

Glenmary Challenge has three goals: to educate Catholics about the U.S. home missions, to motivate young men to consider Glenmary priesthood or brotherhood and to invite all Catholics to respond to their baptismal call to be a missionary by partnering with Glenmary as financial contributors, prayer partners, professional coworkers and/or volunteers.
