26th Tuesday in Ordinary Time

Following Christ

From today’s Scripture: When the days for Jesus to be taken up were fulfilled, he resolutely determined to journey to Jerusalem.”—Lk 9:51

No vale la pena; “It’s not worth the trouble.” Each of us who faithfully pray knows the same mixture of desire and dread. We want union with God, holiness and perfect love.

Some days it’s hard and seems elusive while others it is right there in front of us. We lift our eyes up to heaven seeking peace, all the while being scared by the pain, the suffering we might endure for following Christ. I promise you it is worth the trouble. Vale la pena.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to be brave today as I face the pain in my life. Console me with your Holy Spirit.
