Daily Reflection

23rd Tuesday in Ordinary Time

Open my eyes.

From today’s Scripture:Everyone in the crowd sought to touch him because power came forth from him and healed them all.”—Lk 6:19

The Scribes and Pharisees were very jealous of Jesus. They were insecure of their own authority. Jesus spoke the truth; they looked for ways to put Jesus down. Scripture says they watched him closely. Jesus continued to show love for others by His performance of many miracles. That only made those in power more jealous.

Does our jealousy blind us to the goodness around us? We are not free when we are slaves to this sin.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to see through my own fears and jealousies. Let me rejoice in the good that I see in those around me. Help me to be free.
