17th Sunday in Ordinary Time

Trust love

From today’s Scripture:We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.”—Rm 8:28

It is beautiful to be called by God. Everyone is, in some way, you know. From the humblest task to the greatest, God is at work. Whether we are the down-and-out or the most powerful, God is calling us, according to his purpose. Our struggle is to listen to God in a world of other noises.

When we listen, we hear. All things on earth are moving toward God, whether we know it or not. We can choose to ignore it, or even to reject it, but all of creation is singing God’s glory. When we love, we touch that. When we love, we are listening to God.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to quiet down for a minute! Let your fire of love enkindle my soul. Help me today to love those around me, and to hear your voice when I do. You are love.
