Daily Reflection

16th Thursday in Ordinary Time

Open my heart, Lord.

From today’s Scripture:But blessed are your eyes, because they see, and your ears, because they hear.”—Mt 13:16

Some of us have taken amusement park rides that lead into a dark tunnel, Add the scary sound  of loud noises and we become deaf and blind—and at a least a little nervous, wondering what’s next!

How blessed we are to have the eyes and ears of faith! We can see past confusion, we hear past fear. When we’re confused and fearful, we make bad choices. Jesus wants something better for us: the inner eye that sees truth plainly; the inner ear that listens with hope.

Let us pray: Loving God, help me to see you in the face of those I meet  today. Help me to hear them the way you would.
