13th Wednesday in Ordinary Time

From today’s Scripture: “Away with your noisy songs! I will not listen to the melodies of your harps. But if you would offer me burnt offerings, then let justice surge like water, and goodness like an unfailing stream.”—Am 5:23-24

At the end of our day, let us quietly do an Examen of Conscience as a careful reflection of how I was as a citizen of this universe. Have the ears of my heart been opened to the needs of my sisters and brothers? Have the eyes of my heart beheld the Divine face in all created things? Did I stop to give time to listen to the story of the other? Was I willing to share my personal story? How have I affected the quality of this day? Have I been blind or deaf to the blessings of the day? Is there anyone, including myself, whom I need to forgive? Did I bring the waters of grace to someone, or did I bring someone to the waters of grace?

Decide to do an Examen, and let it be a steady light that transforms you over time.

Let us pray: Lord, guide us to purify all our intentions according to your will.
