14th Thursday in Ordinary Time

From today’s Scripture: “Yet, though I stooped to feed my child, they did not know that I was their healer.”—Hos 11:4

I think most people, especially parents, can relate to this heartbreaking line: helping someone all along, only to realize they never knew how much you did for them.

As we grow older, it is easy to look at our accomplishments and think, “I built this life.” But someone taught you, someone encouraged you, and someone prayed for you.

Just as we don’t always recognize our parents’ sacrifices, we also often fail to recognize God’s work in our lives.

Let us pray: Lord, help us to recognize the many ways you have worked in our lives so that we may respond with gratitude.
