Daily Reflection

14th Wednesday in Ordinary Time

Sow justice.

From today’s Scripture: “Sow for yourselves justice, reap the reward of piety.” —Hos 10:12

There are situations in which it is not easy to know what is the fairest thing to do. Many times, however, our conscience makes the task easier for us. We also know that seeking justice often implies arming ourselves with courage. An example would be to intervene when a person in a position of power wants to take advantage of another person who is in a disadvantaged situation.

This reading reminds us that we must sow justice and promises us that if we do, we will reap mercy.

Let us pray: Just Lord, give me the courage and everything I need to sow justice. Allow me never to give in to the temptation of remaining indifferent.
