From today’s Scripture: “When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they began to be afraid. But he said to them, ‘It is I. Do not be afraid.’”—Jn 6:19-20
Take a moment to think about a time when you were truly afraid and then immediately after a sense of peace came over you, taking all the fear with it. As a mom, this comes daily when you think your kid will get hurt, you wait with bated breath, and then you exhale as they make it through the scary thing with only a little ‘boo boo’. What was only a minute seems like a lifetime. You sigh as your heart slows to a normal beat.
That sense of peace is everything. This is what the Lord offers to us daily and especially in times of struggle. When we lean into him and not into our own understanding, some of those tough things will only appear as little ‘boo boos’ and we’ll watch our fears fade away and grace fill the spaces.
Let us pray: Thank you Lord for your miracles. Thank you Lord for filling my heart with peace.
