From today’s Scripture: “When Samuel caught sight of Saul, the LORD assured him, ‘This is the man of whom I told you; he is to govern my people.’”—1 Sam 9:17

Wow! God has chosen our king, everything will be great, and we’ll read the rest of the story. God as their king was not good enough; they needed a “real” king. Sadly, too often in our world today we need a real king, someone to build a real kingdom. All the real kingdoms have fallen and ours will too.

Let us pray: Father, help us to discern your will and seek to build your kingdom in our world and hearts so that we may truly pray, “Thy kingdom come.” Amen.
