From today’s Scripture: “He said to them, ‘Give them some food yourselves.’ They replied, ‘Five loaves and two fish are all we have, unless we ourselves go and buy food for all these people.’”—Lk 9:13

I sense that the disciples were a bit overwhelmed when they looked at the crowd and tried to figure out how to care for everyone present. Jesus’ answer to them is so simple and miraculous.

Are there times when we find a task to be intimidating or too much to handle? If we look to our heavenly father for guidance rather than trying to solve it ourselves, or perhaps overthink it, he’ll provide what we need, and then some.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to remember I don’t have to handle everything on my own. Thank you for knowing what I need, caring for me, and loving me. Thank you for being my guide.
