From today’s Scripture: “Brothers and sisters: We know that all things work for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose.” — Rm 8:28
I have celebrated many quinceañeras, a celebration for a young Latina woman on her 15th birthday. One might wonder what kind of sentiments normally accompany such celebrations. They include gratitude, appreciation, admiration, and pride. The quinceañera, the lady celebrating her 15th birthday, is grateful for her parents and her family, for the love and affection that has been showered upon her, and the innumerable sacrifices the family has made for her sake.
As we celebrate the birthday of our Mother Mary, are we in a position to show our gratitude, appreciation, admiration, and pride for her, the mother who sacrificed all for our sake?
Let us pray: Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
