From today’s Scripture: “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.” — Mt 14:27

Jesus walks on water. Peter, like many apostles, says IF it is you. He wants assurances so asks IF he can also walk on the water. Jesus says, “Come,” and Peter steps out only to be plunged into fear as he sinks. Am I able to step out in faith without an IF? Can I trust Jesus?

Let us pray: Lord come to me. Strengthen me. Enable me to put aside all IFS and BUTS. I love you, Lord, my strength. I come to you with faith and trust.
