From today’s Scripture: “Come to me heedfully, listen, that you may have life.” — Is 55:3

To heed is to listen, to pay attention to, to mark my words. Jesus’ words feed the crowd and answer all their needs. Like food and drink for the body, his words feed the soul. The hunger for Jesus draws us to seek him, to follow him, to come to him in love.

Let us pray: Jesus, you open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. It is you I hunger for. Feed me, Lord, with yourself.
