From today’s Scripture: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the paralytic, ‘Courage, child, your sins are forgiven.’”—Mt 9:2
It was a battle of fear vs. trust. My Lenten journey was a season of vulnerability. It was the period when I stripped myself of my heavy baggage and a mask that weakens the best of myself. There is life preservation in holy surrender; facing head-on my sinful tendencies was a harsh teacher. I had to enter into my inner self, to retract in my bubble, my cocoon, to be empty so God can have a space, and I can welcome God’s holy presence, allow God to restore my depleted self. The wounds of the passion medicated the bruises in my relationships. The rolled away heavy stone opened doors to communications that were shut. The empty tomb set my guilt free. Only God regenerates. I am more than my sins. I am a loved sinner.
Let us pray: Lord, help us to totally trust you.
