From today’s Scripture: “But when you pray, go to your inner room, close the door, and pray to your Father in secret. And your Father, who sees in secret, will repay you.”—Mt 6:6
In the movie “War Room,” a realtor named Elizabeth meets an elderly woman named Miss Clara who needs her help to sell her house. During their initial visit, Miss Clara sees that Elizabeth is feeling stressed. In conversation, Elizabeth shares her marriage struggles and lack of faith. Miss Clara shows her a special closet she calls her “war room.” The walls are plastered with the names of the people she is praying for, prayers, and Scripture verses she uses in prayer. Miss Clara teaches Elizabeth to pray for her marriage telling her, “In order to stand up and fight the enemy, you need to get on your knees and pray.” Elizabeth creates her own prayer room and begins earnest prayer for her marriage.
Do you have a “war room” prayer space?
Let us pray: Lord, help me to create a sacred space where I can bring to you all the people who have asked for my prayers, those who have no one to pray for them, and for the needs of the people in my life and the world.
