From today’s Scripture: “As you stretch forth [your] hand to heal, and signs and wonders are done through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”—Acts 4:30
At the time of this writing, there are many difficult things happening in our world. And at Glenmary’s headquarters, most of the prayer requests received are for ‘world peace.’ The first reading today brings me hope. Take a deep breath and read this powerful Scripture: Lord, take note of their threats, and enable your servants to speak your word with all boldness, as you stretch forth your hand to heal, and sign and wonders are done.
Through prayer, we can speak with boldness. It’s the best tool we have when we feel there is nothing else we can do. Maybe for today, a good Lenten practice would be to reread Acts 4, take time for Lectio Divina, and join me in prayer for peace.
Let us pray: Come, Lord Jesus, come.
