From today’s Scripture: “Every day they devoted themselves to meeting together in the temple area and to breaking bread in their homes. They ate their meals with exultation and sincerity of heart.”—Acts 2:46
Devotion to something important in our lives takes a lot of work. It takes setting goals, self-sacrifice, perseverance, and in some cases, a little suffering. In the readings today, we are reminded that to devote ourselves to our faith, the most important devotion, takes practice. We will be tested. We will have to give up worldly desires and the timelines and stories we create for ourselves. But the goal is worth it. And as a community of faithful disciples of Christ, I think we can do it. Amen!
Let us pray: Lord, you know the desires of my heart. Guide me in my devotion to you, so that one day I will rejoice with the community of faithful in Heaven.
