From today’s Scripture: “One of the Twelve, who was called Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests and said, ‘What are you willing to give me if I hand him over to you?’”—Mt 26:14
If you know a person somewhat like Judas Iscariot, you would know a person who felt called by God, used to be close to God, used to follow God, and then fell away from God. Then his life seemed empty — and it was empty for Judas because he committed suicide after he had ‘sold’ Jesus.
If you or someone you love has fallen away from Jesus, don’t give up, but pour out your heart to God for them, because God is always merciful and wants to forgive us and wants us to be close to him.
Let us pray: Jesus, I regret every person who has ever moved away from you, and I beg you to restore them to life by filling them with your love.
