From today’s Scripture: “A heart contrite and humbled, O God, you will not spurn.”—Ps 51:19
God sent his only begotten Son to us in such a humble way. Jesus entered into the world in human form like us, born in a cattle trough among animals, and our King of Kings did not wear a golden crown. And as Jesus was being tortured and condemned to die, “he opened not his mouth.” What astonishing humility!
So if we are called to be “Christ-like,” should we not also become humble servants of God? Let us remember that “whoever exalts himself will be humbled; but whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”
Let us pray: Lord, into your hands I commend my spirit.
