From today’s Scripture: “Now then, speak thus to my servant David, ‘The LORD of hosts has this to say: It was I who took you from the pasture and from the care of the flock to be commander of my people Israel. I have been with you wherever you went.’”—2 Sam 7:8
It amazes me listening to vocation stories. Some were teachers, others were businessmen, while others were called immediately after high school. Reflecting on our lives reminds us about God’s work in our lives. This flashback is very key because it reminds us that the mission is not ours but God’s. It is he, the Lord, who sowed the seed in us.
As we see in the book of 2 Samuel, God called us from various occupations of life. He has planted a seed of faith in us to be missionaries of his people. This God who started the mission with us, he will be with us always in our mission endeavors.
Let us pray: Loving God, creator of all that is, you call your children to be partakers of various roles in your Kingdom. Grant me sufficient faith to always remember that you are the owner and author of the mission I participate in.
