From today’s Scripture: “All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet: ‘Behold the Virgin shall be with child and bear a son, and they shall name him Emmanuel,’ which means, ‘God is with us.’” —Mt 1:22-23
Mary proclaimed, “For he who is mighty has done great things to me; holy is his name.” God created a soul according to his pleasure, a fruit of his attributes, a marvel of his infinite power, without touch or blemish of the sin of Adam, and perfected a work that is the object of his omnipotence. She was set apart from the ordinary law, by which the rest of humanity is brought into existence, for in her the seed of the serpent had no part. The Son of Man was conceived in her womb.
Let us pray: Most Blessed Virgin Mary, help us to obey your words, “Do whatever he tells you,” and be with us always in all circumstances so we can follow like you said, “Be it done unto me according to your word.”
