From today’s Scripture: “For the love of Christ impels us…”—2 Cor 5:14

What motivates you? My first thought, being a saint in progress, was the smell of coffee in the morning. This is definitely not the motivation St. Paul is talking about.

Our motivation in all things must never be self-seeking. We are called to be the love that Christ has given us. As Christ freely gave his life in love for us, we too must give ourselves in love for others. To do this we must engage in the lives around us. When we see others through Christ’s eyes, we see the love he has for them and we can respond in that same love.

Let us pray: Lord, help me to always respond in love.
