From today’s Scripture: “It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.”—Acts 4:20

As a child I decided that I was going to dig my way to China; nothing was going to stop me because I was determined, committed, and ready for the challenge. I even had a shovel ready. Not even the fact that it simply could not be done was going to stop me. My father took me out in the backyard and showed me where to start digging and assured me that he had done his research, and this was the shortest way to China.

Several hours later (I am unsure of how many) I finally hit something that made me believe that I had made it. I was truly proud of my accomplishment, but my pride and even arrogance were short lived. I hit the top of the septic tank.

Let us pray: Risen Christ, give me the determination and grit necessary to tell the world what I have seen and heard. Give me the courage to tell the story, to let the entire world know that you have risen and offer us eternal life.
