St. Leo the Great

Daily Reflection

St. Leo the Great

Thank you.

From today’s Scripture: And one of them, realizing he had been healed, returned, glorifying God in a loud voice; and he fell at the feet of Jesus and thanked him.—Lk 17:15

No admittance. Employees only. No entrance. We are familiar with these signs. And we know so well about social distancing and masks. So, too, did the 10 lepers in the Gospel. Yet after being brought back into the community only one of the lepers decides to make two trips: one with the other lepers and one by himself. He returns to Jesus to give thanks. Then, figuratively speaking, he picks up his visa to reach out to others. The words of Jesus are clear: Get up and go!

Let us pray: Lord heal my social paralysis. Direct me to open doors to others in our times of isolation and fears.
