Fifth Wednesday of Lent

Daily Reflection

Fifth Wednesday of Lent

Act like Jesus.

From today’s Scripture: “They [the Jews who believed in Jesus] answered and said to him, ‘Our father is Abraham.’ Jesus said to them, ‘If you were Abraham’s children, you would be doing the works of Abraham. But now you are trying to kill me, a man who has told you the truth that I heard from God; Abraham did not do this.’”—Jn 8:39-40

Jesus told the people that they were not really Abraham’s children because they were not acting like him.

We became children of God at our Baptism. God is our Father. God is also our standard for living. Am I acting like God? Do people know I am a child of God by the way I live?

Let us pray: Jesus, I thank you for making me a child of God. Please make me a real child of God by living like God, loving everybody else as you did.
