From today’s Scripture: “Though I walk in the valley of darkness, I fear no evil, for you are with me.” — Psalm 23:4
The Day of the Dead. In many places in the world, it is a very sacred day. A time for families to go to the cemetery to celebrate their loved ones with a meal at the place where they are buried. Sad and joyous at the same time.
The Bible tells us to pray for the dead. We pray that our loved ones are in heaven, but the Bible talks of a place of purification, or Purgatory, for some who are not ready to enter heaven. We can and should pray for our dead. What a beautiful spiritual connection. Our love continues in a sacred way. God has never forgotten us. All Souls’ Day inspires me to remember that God walks with me to the gates of heaven.
Let us pray: May the souls of the Faithful departed rest in peace.
