From today’s Scripture: “You, O man, are without excuse, every one of you who passes judgment.”—Rom 2:1
St. Teresa of Avila wrote, “If it be His will that these plants and flowers shall grow, some of them with water drawn from this well and some without it, what is that to me? Do as You will, O Lord, and let me not offend You.”
I am the type of person who likes to know all the answers. But St. Teresa says that some things are above my pay grade. She reminds us to be humble and to give God the authority to do what he wills without our questioning. To be a great saint like her means letting go of control and giving it over to God.
Let us pray: Lord God, today I remember that you are God and I am not. Help me to give up the big and little things that I want to control over to you.
