St. Matthew

Ordinary Time_Eucharist-4

From today’s Scripture: “I, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received. with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love.”—Eph 4:2

Just like St. Matthew, Jesus calls you and me to follow him. Paul’s letter to the Ephesians offers a beautiful description of how to follow—especially in this broken world. We are called to live in a manner worthy of our calling, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, striving to preserve the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. That’s a weighty challenge! But we are never asked to serve God’s will on our own. God is there, every step of the way, to help us. We need only to ask.

Let us pray: God, help me to know the hope of my calling; living my baptismal faith fully. God, help me to be aware of your grace at all times.
