St. Cecilia

Ordinary Time_Summer-3

From today’s Scripture: “It is written, My house shall be a house of prayer, but you have made it a den of thieves.”—Lk 19:46

Today the Church celebrates St. Cecilia who, despite all dangers, remained pure and completely belonging to Christ even unto death. She teaches us what it means to be restored by Christ as he did in the temple as we see depicted in today’s readings.

If we are honest with ourselves, we will realize that our inner temples need cleansing. This action of Christ resembles the internal cleansing that all of us need. May we be made strong and fearless temples of the Lord.

Let us pray: In this modern world that has become less and less favorable to your message, may I show your love and uncompromising truth to all.
