From today’s Scripture: “If I tell you about earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you about heavenly things?”—Jn 3:12

Being a Religious Education teacher with the young children in a small Glenmary mission parish is a great joy. They have so many questions that it seems like we never have enough time to answer them all. In our classroom we have a bucket in the middle of the table with almost 50 questions that they have written. At the end of each class, we draw out a couple of them for discussion and answers. A couple of the recent questions have been, “What does it mean to be Catholic?” and “How does faith transform me?” As we discuss each one, they usually lead to additional questions.

Like Nicodemus in today’s Gospel, we need to keep asking questions to grow into a deeper understanding of our faith and relationship with God. What questions do I have for Jesus today? Can I take the time to stop and listen to his answer?

Let us pray: Jesus, as I continue to reflect on your resurrection, I turn to you with my doubts and questions and take this time to listen and ponder your answer.
