From today’s Scripture: “Amen, amen, I say to you, you will see heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and descending on the Son of Man.”  — John 1:51

Today we celebrate the archangels Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael. This feast reminds me that our lives are not limited to what we can see or control. God continues to work in the depths, often silently, accompanying processes that we do not yet understand.

Michael reminds me that I do not have to face life’s struggles alone. Gabriel reminds me that God enters into our story and can call us through a word, a person, or an unexpected situation. Raphael reminds me that wounds are also part of the journey toward healing and that God does not abandon those who are going through difficult moments.

In my mission of accompanying others, I need to remember that I am not the one who transforms other people’s lives. I can listen, guide, support, and walk alongside someone, but God is the one who works in the heart. My task is to be an available and humble presence. We do not walk alone. God sustains us, and He also sends people into our lives who become signs of His care. Do I trust that God is at work, even when I do not see immediate results in my life or in the lives of those I accompany?

Let us pray: Lord, thank you because you never abandon me. When I am afraid, remind me that your strength is greater than whatever I am facing. When I accompany someone, help me not to try to take your place, but to be a presence that listens, supports, and leads them toward you. Amen.
