From today’s Scripture: “The lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David, has triumphed, enabling him to open the scroll with its seven seals.”—Rv 5:5

We are made worthy by the blood of Christ. This is especially true of Mary; she too had to be purified but she is the firstfruits of salvation. This memorial of the presentation of Mary shows us how she was dedicated to God.

This memorial and this verse from Revelation remind you and me that we too need to be rededicated to Christ. For only through him are you and I made worthy. We must be washed clean and be deserving of the white garment we once received at our baptism.

Let us pray: May I belong completely to you as Mary fully and unhesitatingly belonged to you.
