From today’s Scripture: “Amen, I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the other contributors to the treasury. For they have all contributed from their surplus wealth, but she, from her poverty, has contributed all she had, her whole livelihood.”—Mk 12:43-44
In this passage from the Gospel of Mark, Jesus reveals that true generosity is measured not by abundance, but by the total gift of oneself to God. As Catholics, we are sent on mission to imitate the poor widow by offering our whole lives — our time, talents, and resources — in trust and love, especially in service to those most in need.
Let us pray: Lord Jesus, help us to give you our whole lives with trust and love, imitating the poor widow in generous service to those most in need.
