Fourth Saturday of Lent

Lent Email Header 2026_web

From today’s Scripture: “Look and see that no prophet arises from Galilee.”—Jn 7:52

A debate about where Jesus was from rose among the crowd. Many said Jesus must be from Bethlehem, never from Galilee. Even the Pharisees could not give an answer. The debate continued.

In the world today, there is division. In the United States, division is seen in race, country of origin, language — the list continues. Division is what Jesus fought because he said we are all brothers and sisters. St. Paul reminds us that our citizenship is in heaven. We are just passing through this world. This Lent, let us focus on unity and building the Kingdom of God. Reach out to a stranger today. They may be your next friend.

Let us pray: Lord, give me the courage to love all my brothers and sisters, and remind me that we are all children of God.

Today’s author is Father Vic Subb. He has served as a mission pastor, building three churches and accompanying migrants, over many years.
