From today’s Scripture: “Whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.”—Mt 25:40
On a cold and breezy Saturday afternoon a few days before Christmas 2024, I delivered a Dollar General gift card to a homeless man living outside in a tiny pup tent. As I approached, he opened the little fabric window, and I offered him the gift card. He said, “You were thinking of me?” I said, “I sure was!” We conversed a bit and then I moved on because it was very cold, and he needed to shut his window.
Only an hour after visiting Jeff, I was attending Saturday evening Mass. In Father Vic’s homily, he asked us parishioners “if we had found where Jesus had pitched his tent?” For me, I had just found Jesus’ tent, and with the homeless man Jeff inside!
Let us pray: Lord, bless us with eyes to see YOU in everyone we meet.
