From today’s Scripture: “Jesus then said to those Jews who believed in him, ‘If you remain in my word, you will truly be my disciples, and you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.’”—Jn 8:31-32
Whenever I hear these words of Jesus I can’t help but think of Pontius Pilate asking Jesus, “What is truth?” as he awaits those final days of his earthly life.
In a world where truth is relative, may we always seek our ultimate source of truth in the words of Jesus. And if we find ourselves wavering in uncertainty or lacking clarity on truth, heed Jesus’ advice: “If you remain in the word you will truly be my disciples.” This is a truth that we can cling to.
Let us pray: Lord, you are the truth. Anchor me in your truth and word through the difficulties in my life today.
