From today’s Scripture: “They were overjoyed at seeing the star…”—Mt 2:10
Even though it’s Valentine’s Day in the stores, we know that Christmas isn’t over yet. It’s the Feast of Epiphany! With the Magi we ponder and celebrate anew the profound mystery of the coming of the Christ child. And we are filled with wonder and joy.
Catholics are blessed by the rich traditions and beauty of liturgical seasons. As we celebrate the liturgical cycle year after year, we set our inner clocks and priorities to our faith. This orientation is an antidote to the secular, consumerist culture we swim in. Celebrating the liturgical year with children is formative and fun. And this way of ordering time is one of the many gifts of Catholicism that Glenmary brings to its mission territories.
Let us pray: Jesus, lead me to yourself. Your presence fills me with wonder and joy.
