From today’s Scripture: “Now those who had been scattered went about preaching the word. Thus Philip went down to the city of Samaria and proclaimed the Christ to them…There was great joy in that city.”—Acts 8:4-5, 8

The Acts of the Apostles says that Saul (later to be named Paul) is trying to destroy the Church. He is not the only one. Many have tried to destroy Jesus’ Church. But the Spirit still moves people, like Philip who is sent to proclaim Christ. The Church is still proclaiming Christ. And those who hear the message are filled with joy. Have you seen the face of a recent convert?

Let us pray: Like Philip, may we proclaim Christ where we live, work, or go to school.  Filled with the Spirit, may we bring the Gospel to others that they may be filled with the joy that comes from Jesus.
